Welcome! My name is Varun Sunil Shah, and I am currently working as a Deep Researcher at Worldquant LLC, combining fundamental techniques with statistical methods and high-quality data to produce valuable predictive signals. I am very interested in machine intelligence and decision-making, and in mathematically modeling human learning and decision-making and integrating the same with machine intelligence in the hope of building more ‘human’ machines.

Academics

I received my Bachelor of Science with Honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2022, and I was also awarded the Institute Silver Medal for departmental excellence.

Hobbies and Interests

I am an avid amateur musician, and I play the guitar and bass. I also mix music. I am a huge football fan, and I love to play football and tennis. I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons and other RPGs.
